MILES FOR
MEDICAL DEBT

ALEXA'S CHRONIC
ILLNESS STORY

friendly.jpg

At 19 years old, I first fell ill. At 20, I was over a quarter of a million dollars in medical debt. A uniquely American injustice, no one should worry about their medical bills as they figure out how to manage an illness. Now I'm looking to help others who are in deep medical debt.

THE WALK

In May of 2022, I'm going to walk from Central Park in Manhattan to Orient Point on the tip of the North Fork of Long Island. The goal is to walk those 110 miles

non-stop. Every mile I walk will be sponsored by individuals who are looking to improve the lives of those who have battled extensive medical debt. Additional elite corporate sponsors will help to fund even more good.

The chosen recipient of these funds is RIP Medical Debt, an established 501(C)(3) founded to help relieve millions of families of their burdensome medical debt. They do this by purchasing portfolios of debt at discounted rates from collection agencies. This means our dollars are that much more powerful - $1 donated can equal $100 of medical debt relief.
